Channel Islands Sail 2027

In 2027 we will be sailing Shanti II our Halberg Rassy 352 to The Channel Island via the Normandy Coast this will be in three legs. Any of these legs can be a RYA qualification such as Competent Crew, Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper.

Leg 1 Normandy French Coast cruise to The Channel Islands

21st June to 30th June 2027

RHYC Woolverstone to St Peter Port, Guernsey - This passage will call at Ramsgate, cross the English Channel to Boulogne, then take in Dieppe, Fécamp, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Alderney and St Peter Port. 9-day sail. Explore the D-Day beaches and French markets. Go native and fill the fridge with cheese, wine and local pâté.

Cost: £1245 fully inc. (other than fast ferry or flight home)

Leg 2 Channel Islands Explorer

6th July to 14th July 2027

Start off from lively St Peter Port, Guernsey. Catch the tide and sail south to St Helier, Jersey, and visit the amazing beaches and restaurants. Pick up a mooring in Sark and row ashore. Tour the island by bike (no cars allowed). Anchor off Herm and walk around this pristine beach paradise. Look up a good tide and take the flow to Alderney, then moor in Braye Harbour. Take a water taxi ashore and see the delights of island life. Nip around the back of Alderney with a decent tide to take us back to St Peter Port.

Leg 3 Channel Islands to RHYC Woolverstone via French Normandy Coast

16th July to 24th July 2027

Maybe catch an early flight and spend a couple of nights in Guernsey, a superb Channel Island. Join the yacht Shanti and set a passage to Alderney. Take a water taxi ashore and sample island life on the edge of The Channel, with beaches, bars and wilderness. Catch that 4-knot tide and be carried to Cherbourg. Set a course for Caen and moor near Pegasus Bridge. A few shorter hops allow afternoon and evening visits to delightful Fecamp and the marina in the centre of Dieppe. Boulogne is next, with a tactical decision on Dover or Ramsgate. Then sail up and complete the homeward leg to RHYC.

Our 6 - 8 day cruises are a great way to go further afield than what we are able to do on a 5-day course. They are ideal for mile building, Yachtmaster Coastal and Day Skipper Qualifications. Regardless of why you choose one of these great sails, it will take your skills and confidence that one step further, while visiting some fantastic sites.
